Professional Portfolio
The professional portfolio that you develop in this program is a collection of your work. Faculty serve as mentors as this portfolio develops. Each course contains a portfolio project that contributes to your final portfolio. Although your course instructor may request reviews by members of your committee, your course instructors determine the criteria for a portfolio entry. Course instructors and others provide feedback on your portfolio entries. The complete portfolio reflects the breadth and depth of your work in this program and becomes a valuable asset as you present your competencies and expertise to prospective employers.
The Portfolio includes:
- Your resume
- Statement of your professional goals
- An empirical review of the relevant literature in you concentration area
- An action plan that defines personal and professional goals and outlines a business proposal for developing one's own program on center related to human development
- A policy analysis based on a critical human development issues of concern to you
- An intervention that you plan and could implement and evaluate
- A grant proposal that you submit to a funding source
- A set of slides presenting your topic that integrates theory, research, and practice
