The Human Development Master's Program at the
Blacksburg campus of Virginia Tech prepares students

This degree prepares you for high-quality professional
practice that is grounded in research and theories
of human development. The expertise gained in this
program is in high demand among employers, according
to survey results with a range of human service
organizations. HD master's degree students are
also prepared for further graduate study.
For a regular decision, apply to the graduate school and complete the supplementary application to the department by January 1. If you wish to apply for an assistantship, please apply by the January 1 deadline. For the late admission decision, apply no later than April 15. Late admission applicants should send an e-mail to Mrs. Kathy Surface (ksurface@vt.edu) to indicate an intent to apply by February 15 or as soon as the decision to apply to the HD Master's Program is made. This informal e-mail ensures that a file will be created and maintained for late admissions applicants before the April 15th deadline.
